The Global Alliance for Climate Smart Agriculture and Cornell University are pleased to hold a half-day workshop, “Catalyzing Action towards Climate-Smart Agriculture” during Climate Week NYC.
During the workshop, GASCA will showcase cutting-edge research and applied projects to help farmers around the globe achieve the goals of Climate-Smart Agriculture as soon as possible. Specific topics will include enhancing the enabling environment for CSA (metrics and finance, business partnerships and NDCs), and CSA practices (including soil health, use of precision-agriculture, agroecology and efficient irrigation). GACSA is an inclusive, voluntary and action-oriented multi-stakeholder platform on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) – facilitated by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (http://www.fao.org/gacsa/en/). Its vision is to improve food security, nutrition, and resilience in the face of climate change. GACSA aims to catalyze and help create transformational partnerships to encourage actions that reflect an integrated approach to the three pillars of CSA: Sustainable Production, Mitigation, and Adaptation in Agriculture around the world. Target audience: Country focal points, NGOs and INGOs, policy makers, farmers, researchers, and businesses working on climate-smart agriculture globally.
Location: The Cornell Club, 6 East 44th Street, New York, NY.
By Invitation Only: Contact the organizers for participation.
