Join us on Wednesday, September 25th at the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) in historic downtown Manhattan for a lively discussion on strengthening resilience in vulnerable NYC communities during blackouts. This one-hour panel begins at noon and will be followed by a half hour networking session. The panel will be moderated by Solar One’s Director of Resilient Solar, Angelica Ramdhari, and will feature speakers from GOSR and the Brooklyn Public Library.
As part of Climate Week NYC 2019, we’ll explore the challenges and solutions to building resilient, solar-powered communities in NYC. With storms becoming ever more frequent and intense, recovery is increasingly difficult for coastal communities, especially given New York’s dense urban population and strict building regulations. You will learn how these leading organizations are facilitating energy storage + solar installations to confront these issues and improve community resilience.
Battery storage faces many obstacles to deployment in NYC, but will prove essential to decarbonization and resilience efforts. This is a great opportunity to learn about and participate in New York’s budding solar + storage revolution and network with industry partners and develop business opportunities. Installers, minority- and women-owned businesses, subcontractors, suppliers, and green energy professionals are all encouraged to attend.
This event is part of the Energy Transition program of Climate Week NYC.
