Elements of Change

UNICEF and Comics Uniting Nations implemented the Climate Comic Contest that invited thousands of children and young people across the globe to develop a planet-protecting superhero. The winner of the contest brought her superhero 'Tre' to life in comic-book form called 'The Adventures of Brother Earth.'

Tre will now come to stage thanks to collaboration with Greenpoint Innovations, Hypokrit Theater Company and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Inspired by Indian street-theater, the play will take place in various locations throughout New York City during Climate Week, and ultimately around classrooms across the globe.

The theater production is part of a series of artistic activations during Climate Week NYC 2018 to tell the stories of young people impacted by climate change, and who discover their power to transform the world around them.

Through comics, street art, theater, open dialogue and a classroom activation, this project brings together children and youth, dignitaries, business leaders, the general public and climate activists from around the world to recognize and act on the human impacts of climate change and the power and role of young people to take action for a better future.

There will be multiple theater showings throughout Climate Week in various locations. The eventbrite pages for registration and details will be available on the event website.
