Climate Risk & Stakeholder Expectations

As forecasts around the impact of climate change become increasingly foreboding, the effects have already become more visible. These tangible effects—the longer, more intense heat waves, the rising sea levels—have spurred a greater sense of urgency among investment managers to guard against these risks. Yet, not all stakeholders are equally receptive to how stewards of their capital speak about these issues. With these different expectations, communicating the firm’s approach to managing climate risk can be daunting.

Please join us for an engaging panel conversation and cocktail reception, which will dive into this nuanced issue. We encourage all ESG professionals, portfolio managers, communicators, strategists, and other executives at investment managers to attend.

Panelists:

  • Witold Henisz, Deloitte & Touche Professor of Management at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
  • Dr. Dinah A. Koehler, Former Executive Director, Sustainability Research at UBS Asset Management
  • Imogen Rose-Smith, 2017-2019 University of California Investment Fellow and Former Senior Writer with Institutional Investor
  • Martin Whittaker, Chief Executive Officer, Just Capital

Alex Heath, EVP and Group Head for Business and Social Purpose at Edelman, will provide a keynote address. Tim Quinn, Vice President, Financial Communications & Capital Markets at Edelman, will moderate the discussion.
