Changing climates: Prioritizing human health amid environmental, political and social change
Please join the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) for a breakfast panel discussion focused on the impacts of our changing climate on human health. We know the health of our environment is inextricably linked to both human health and the strength of our socioeconomic institutions. So when we talk about the impacts of our 'changing climate', we can't focus solely on the environment -- we need to have a more holistic conversation around the evolving social, economic, political and environmental climate and how it impacts our collective health and well-being.
Leaders from business and civil society will discuss ways that leading companies from the real estate industry and beyond can tackle climate change to positively impact the health of their employees and other stakeholders. And we’ll look at how addressing the co-benefits of climate change and health can feed into a company’s broader corporate responsibility and ESG reporting strategies. We are graciously hosted by Teknion at their WELL Certified showroom.
The International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) is a public benefit corporation whose mission is to improve human health and well-being in buildings and communities across the world through its WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™). Launched in 2014, WELL is a performance-based system that measures, improves, and monitors the built environment's impact on people. WELL is being adopted in over 3,500 projects spread across 55 countries, 34 U.S. states, and over 100 cities.
