The Climate Group is hosting a closed-door breakfast discussion on catalyzing greater ambition in the electrification of the transport sector as a key measure to address climate change.
A number of European cities have declared their intention to implement policies like fossil fuel free zones and 100% electrified transit to accelerate their electro-mobility transition. These declarations have played a significant role in convincing ride share, commercial freight delivery, automobile, truck and bus manufacturing companies to invest in electrifying their fleets. Could similar declarations by a core number of cities in the U.S. be one of the most transformative ways to speed the production and adoption of light, medium, and heavy duty EVs?
This is a high level strategy meeting involving key NGOs and funders to address this question and explore the potential for creating strong and collaborative inside and outside campaigns. In this breakfast meeting we will explore the opportunities, barriers, and next steps for planning a city-focused electro-mobility transition campaign.
