Battery Park City Authority has a long-standing, successful composting program. In 2018, BPCA composted over 20,000 lbs of food and plant waste. As part of Climate Week NYC, join us for a tour of our composting program and see how we’re diverting this waste stream from the landfill. Participants must register for a tour – email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (212) 267-9700.
The Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority is a New York State public benefit corporation whose mission is to plan, create, coordinate, and sustain a balanced community of commercial, residential, retail, and park space within its designated 92-acre site on the lower west side of Manhattan. There is a recognition that, as development of new parcels is completed, the importance of maintenance within the mission will become more significant.
This event is part of the Food, Land and Nature-Based Solutions program of Climate Week NYC.
