Climate Week NYC Opening Ceremony

An introduction to our Opening Ceremony

September 17, 2023

The Opening Ceremony is the most high-profile moment of the week. Taking place on Sunday, September 17, the event will feature major announcements, discussions, and interviews with international leadership from business, government, and the climate community. Recent speakers include Prince Charles, Tim Cook, Jacinda Adern, the Hon. Chris Bowen, Kristalina Georgieva, Kathy Hochul, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

This year the Opening Ceremony will cover three key themes:

  • How can and will we meet the challenges of the latest IPCC report in the face of delays and the use of fossil fuels not coming down fast enough?
  • What does deep, systemic change look and feel like? What are the next frontiers – and opportunities?
  • How do organizations prepare for a radically different economy?
