Addressing climate change requires significant investment and finance; trillions of dollars will need to be shifted toward low emissions, climate resilient investments. In 2010, developed countries agreed to jointly mobilize $100 billion per year by 2020 to support mitigation and adaptation efforts in developing countries. Meeting these financial goals will require effectively engaging the private sector and deploying public funds strategically to crowd in private finance.

Jointly hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Center for Climate Strategies, and The New York Community Trust, this invite-only Climate Week session focuses on barriers to, opportunities within, and strategies for financing the Paris Agreement and country-led climate action targets, or Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). 

The day will begin with a briefing on implementing the NDCs and end with an interactive discussion on climate finance strategies that address barriers to achieving climate action at scale.
