Billion Oyster Project Oyster Restoration Station Expedition

I will demonstrate an expedition to a Billion Oyster Project (BOP) Oyster Restoration Station (ORS) and explain how repopulating oysters in NYC waters will (1) increase protection to climate change (2) clarify water (3) increase fish populations (4) make for more swimmable water (5) create jobs (6) increase STEM in education (7) provide environmental justice (8) restore a NYC landmark.

You do not need to register for this event. Just show up.

I may have to bug out for a half hour swim at 2pm as high tide in the area is at 12:40pm and that time is slack current.

Climate Denial, Impacts, & Liability

As relief and recovery efforts for hurricanes Harvey and Irma continue in Texas, Louisiana, Florida and the Caribbean -- not to mention the catastrophic floods in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh and the fierce wildfires worldwide -- the question of how and who should pay for impacts of climate change remains as pressing as ever. The Climate Denial, Impacts, and Liability panel moderated by Mashable’s Andrew Freedman will focus on what the industry knew about climate change, the impacts of climate change and denial, and new efforts to hold the industry accountable.
