Building ambition to 2050: taking action toward 100% Net Zero Carbon Buildings

Our built environment is one of the key sectors necessary to get us to a prosperous world in which we operate within the boundaries that the natural world can sustain. For the building sector, this means operating at net zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) by 2050. Earlier is better. Currently responsible for around 30% of global energy consumption and associated emissions, the building and construction sectors will play a key role in designing solutions that avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
