Origami Event with Dr. Robert Lang: ”Trees of Life + Hope in the Climate Debate"

Greeley Square Park is open to the general public to participate in origami activities and observe Dr. Robert Lang as he creates the tropical forest origami installation. Origami USA will be on hand to provide origami lessons and DJ David Hollands will spin throughout the day.

Be part of the HUMAN COUNTDOWN: A Climate Wake Up Call, a collective action to create an international photo opportunity. You will help call on world leaders to take urgent action towards a fair, binding and ambitious global climate deal.
On September 20th, New Yorkers from all walks of life, national and international speakers will gather for a creative action in Central Park to call for necessary steps by world leaders to bring about a new climate deal.
As world leaders prepare to meet at the United Nations on September 22nd to discuss the urgent issue of climate change, citizens will gather in Central Park to create a Human Countdown. This international media photo opportunity will demonstrate the TIME TO ACT IS RUNNING OUT.
The Human Countdown is the flagship event kick starting the Climate Wake Up Call, a series of coordinated events happening around the world.

Holy Mass for Climate Justice

CIDSE and Caritas Internationalis run an international campaign for climate justice, through which we call for a fair and effective deal at the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen in December 2009. In support of our call, a Delegation of Bishops and Climate Experts from the developed and developing world will be in New York on the occasion of the High-Level Meeting on Climate Change called by UN Secretary-General.
The service will be led by Archbishop Timothy Dolan - New York, USA and co-celebrated by the Bishops of our delegation Cardinal Keith O’Brien - Edinburgh, Scotland, Archbishop John Onaiyekan - Abuja, Nigeria, Bishop Alvaro Ramazzini - San Marcos, Guatemala, Bishop Theotonius Gomes - Dhaka, Bangladesh.
