As one of New York City's iconic hotel properties and one of the first to support the NYC Carbon Challenge, Grand Hyatt New York made a commitment to sustainable practices with the help of NYSERDA, Con Edison and Trane®, a business of Ingersoll Rand. The property recently completed building automation upgrades, supported by incentives from NYSERDA, that dramatically improved the energy use of the 1298 guest room hotel.
Tackling a project of this significance and magnitude illustrates Grand Hyatt New York's pledge to make New York City a more sustainable city. These energy savings will help Hyatt Hotels Corporation achieve their company's goals of reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission by 25% per square meter worldwide by 2020.
