President Trump’s recent announcement that the U.S. will pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement has woken a sleeping giant. Since then, more than 900 investors, including Impax, along with cities, states, and universities representing a total of $6.2 trillion of the U.S. economy have pledged that they would still honor America’s emissions pledge. Yet, as climate risk makes its way to center stage in the investment community, the approach to managing climate risk remains highly debated.
In some cases, there is pressure for complete divestment from entire sectors though there seems to be little investment logic in this. Meanwhile, methodologies to quantify climate risk, such as carbon footprinting, appear to be poorly suited to the task.
Impax is hosting a lunchtime seminar during Climate Week NYC to discuss these topics. There will be an expert panel presenting, followed by Q&A and an opportunity to network.
This event is invite only.
