Reducing the City’s greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050 is the cornerstone of the City’s climate policy. Reaching this 80x50 goal will require transformative approaches to how we use and consume energy in the City. Whether it’s retrofitting NYC buildings, electrifying transportation, being smarter in how we collect and process solid waste, or shifting our energy supply towards renewables, an incremental approach to business-as-usual is unlikely to be sufficient.
Our event, an Official Affiliate Event of Climate Week NYC 2017, will explore this premise in greater detail.
