"CARBON NEGATIVE" FILM SCREENING, PANEL DISCUSSION & RECEPTION

First Screening & Panel Discussion:  4:30pm – 6pm
Second Screening & Panel Discussion:  6:30pm – 8pm

Carbon Negative  features the pioneering work of world renowned economist, Dr. Graciela Chichilnisky, Co-Founder and CEO of Global Thermostat (GT)).  The company has created a revolutionary “Carbon Negative Technology”™ that captures CO2 from the air and transforms it into profitable assets.  Global Thermostat uses captured CO2 for water desalination, synthetic ‘clean’ fuels, bio-fertilizers, green plastics, building materials, carbonated beverages, greenhouses and enhanced oil recovery to help solve the climate change crisis.

Global Thermostat was developed at SRI in Silicon Valley, and is now commercializing its advanced, multi-patented technology to transform Carbon Dioxide from a global liability into an immense profit center. Using its proven, breakthrough technology, GT economically captures CO2, enabling its profitable re-use across multiple large and growing industries – reducing harmful emissions, and helping to close the global carbon cycle.

Dr. Chichilnisky has worked extensively on the United Nations Kyoto Protocol, designing the carbon market that became international law in 2005. She is the creator of the formal theory of Sustainable Development and acted as lead U.S. author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which received the Nobel Prize in 2007.

Fast Company magazine selected Global Thermostat as the “World’s Top Ten Most Innovative Company” in Energy. Dr. Chichilnisky was honored as the 2015 “CEO of the Year”  by IAIR at Yale University Club in NYC.  She is a tenured professor at Columbia University, as well as a visiting professor at Stanford University.
